"We are an ILEC providing broadband access to the consumer in 29 different states. We have been using NETeXPERT for over 12 years to monitor alarms and flow-through provision all switches—5ESS, EWSD DMS, Fiber Terminals from Fujitsu, Lucent, Cisco, and other peripheral modules. We have written all NETeXPERT rulesets ourselves for fault and provisioning. We save a lot of time with NetExpert for auto provisioning and ordering. It is really easy to tie NetExpert to provisioning and ordering systems for Configuration Management tasks. We have NetExpert gateways that integrate to different ordering, provisioning, and inventory systems. The NetExpert dialogs are very powerful and let you deal with unexpected circumstances while the dialog is running. So let's say you are doing a new install, you have a telephone number and the equipment number on the switch... You try to do the install and the switch responds—"I'm sorry that equipment number is already in use." In a NetExpert dialog you can check the number, re-provision, or disconnect. NetExpert is my provisioning system of choice. Once NetExpert is your provisioning system, your automating possibilities really are endless. You can start changing your business processes because you can automate things so quickly. Things like mass long distances changes, pic changes, equipment changes, say you replace a DSLAM, you can auto-provision your DSLAM. You can query the state of your DSLAM, what matches and what doesn't.Our Customer Care uses a web portal to issue provisioning commands that go into NetExpert to issue the provisioning commands automatically. What would have taken up to 4 hours is now done while the customer is on the phone."
